The Calendar web part effortlessly aggregates events from multiple SharePoint sites into a centralized calendar view. Whether it's team meetings, project deadlines, or company-wide events, all the important dates are consolidated for easy access and reference using a customised view.
To enhance visual clarity and organization, the Calendar web part offers colour coding options making it easy to identify and differentiate between various categories or departments.
Additionally, the Calendar web part provides filtering capabilities to streamline event discovery. You can filter events based on criteria such as site, category, or date range.
How to set up the Calendar web part
Only 'Events' list type is currently support. Custom Lists with the Calendar view are not supported.
- Select Edit details at the top of the web part
- Hover over the icon and type ‘Sprocket Calendar’
- Click on 'Add'
- Provide a Title for the Calendar (a friendly unique name relevant to your calendar)
- Provide the calendar Name (found in list properties)
- Input the site URL (the absolute URL)
- Input the HEX colour or colour name
- Input the SharePoint REST API filter
How to add an event
- Click the ‘Events’ page on the top toolbar
- Click on the button
- Select the calendar to which you intend to add the event to
- Add a title
- Select the date and time of the event
- Provide a location or address
- Provide a online link and optional display name
- Nominate a category for the event
- Provide a description about the event and customisable text
- Save the event. *TIP - Copy the site URL to ensure you nominate the correct event and calendar if you have multiple calendar
How many sites can share a sprocket calendar?
The Sprocket calendar web part can aggregate as many calendars as needed. As each calendar is colour coded, events can be identified easily.
